Virtual Talk Therapy and Brainspotting for Adults in Connecticut Navigating Identity Exploration, Anxiety, and Relationships
Affirming Virtual Therapy for LGBTQIA+
Adults in Connecticut
You’ve worked so hard to build a life for yourself—but something still feels off!
Whether you're questioning your sexuality, exploring your gender identity, or just trying to feel more at home in your own skin, it can feel overwhelming and lonely.
The anxiety, the fear of rejection, the guilt about not fitting in—it’s exhausting.
Belonging and the Fear of Being Misunderstood
“I want connection—but not the kind everyone else seems to expect.”
Maya (she/her)** has known she’s asexual for a few years, but she rarely talks about it. Each time she’s opened up, she’s been met with confusion, jokes, or advice to “just keep dating.” Now, even her closest friends don’t know much about this part of her identity.
The isolation is getting harder to ignore. Her friend group bonds over dating apps and awkward hookups, while Maya smiles along—quietly feeling like the odd one out. She craves connection and intimacy, but without the sexual expectations that seem to come with every relationship.
Lately, Maya’s been wondering: Is there a place for someone like me in this world? Will I always feel invisible or misunderstood?
Therapy can be a place to make sense of your identity without shame.
If you're navigating your identity, fear of rejection, or feeling like you don’t belong, you’re not alone.
Polyamory, Family Rejection, and Chosen Family
“We know our love is real—why does it feel like the world doesn’t see it that way?”
Jordan (he/him), Alex (they/them), and Bri (she/her)** have built a loving, supportive polycule. But outside their home, it often feels like their relationship doesn’t count. Jordan’s parents act like Alex and Bri are just “friends.” Bri’s family stopped inviting her to holidays. And Alex dreads the constant pressure to “settle down.”
The rejection is painful—even when their bond is strong. They’ve started avoiding social events and feel more isolated with each passing year. It’s hard to feel safe being open about their love, and the stress is starting to take a toll.
They want support in navigating family boundaries, processing grief, and building confidence in the life they’ve chosen together.
Therapy can offer a safe space for polyamorous folks to be fully seen.
If you’re balancing deep love with fear of judgment, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Trans Identity, Political Uncertainty, and the Need for Affirming Support
“What if I lose access to my hormones? What if it’s not safe to exist as myself anymore?”
Kai (they/them)** has been on testosterone for years, and it’s been life-changing. But with anti-trans laws on the rise and healthcare protections being rolled back, Kai worries: What if I lose access to my hormones? What if my legal documents are challenged? What if it’s not safe to exist as myself anymore? The fear sits in their chest constantly, making it hard to sleep, focus at work, or even plan for the future.
Therapy can’t change the political climate, but it can give Kai a place to process their fears, build resilience, and find ways to advocate for themselves while protecting their peace. Together, the therapist and Kai can explore coping strategies, community support, and ways to regain a sense of control in an unpredictable world.
You deserve a space to process fear, grief, and uncertainty—without judgment.
If you’re navigating the emotional toll of anti-trans legislation or fear of losing access to care, therapy can help you reclaim your peace.
